What We Do
What does Caithness Chamber of Commerce do?
The Chamber is a membership organisation that exists to provide a wide range of services and benefits to businesses in the North Highlands. In return for an annual membership fee – structured based on the size of their business – Chamber members get access to services such as health & safety advice, discounted export documentation and legal expenses insurance. Chamber members also get access to a packed programme of events and networking opportunities.
The Chamber also undertakes a range of lobbying activities on behalf of its members, helping to ensure that their concerns are made known at local, regional and national levels. As part of Scottish Chambers of Commerce – an umbrella organisation covering 26 Chambers of Commerce across Scotland – we can give our members a national voice and get access to policy-makers at the highest level.
In order to represent the interests of its members, to keep membership fees low, and to promote the growth of the overall economy of the North Highlands, the Chamber also takes on a range of contracts, projects and initiatives in addition to its core membership offering. This allows it to maximise the benefits it brings to members and best serve the business community of the North Highlands.
As a small business in its own right, the Chamber also has to seek ways to generate income. It does some of this through taking on funded projects and paid contracts, but it also offers services to businesses across the region and beyond. From scanning and photocopying to office hire, there’s something on offer for businesses of all sizes – and of course, Chamber members can access discounts on many of these services!
