New Start Highland
New Start Highland is a dynamic organisation working to transform Highland lives. In the Caithness and Sutherland area the team strives to alleviate the effects of poverty and crisis. By collecting generous donations of furniture and household items from members of the local communities, New Start Highland is able to provide essential items, helping to make a house a home for local people experiencing hardship.
In order to fund the social services provided in Caithness and Sutherland commercial services are undertaken. New Start Highland have retail shops in Wick and in Thurso, North West Sutherland is serviced by containers in Kinlochbervie, Lochinver and a unit in the Balnakeil village in Durness. The organisation also have containers in the Thurso, Wick and Brora amenity sites where you can donate reusable furniture, household items and bikes. A professional, fully insured removals service has launched, undertaking both household and business moves throughout the region and beyond. All profits earned by these ventures go towards transforming highland lives.
