MCR Pathways
MCR exists to address the widening gap in educational and employment outcomes for care-experienced young people and those facing challenges. Research shows that care-experienced young people who do not receive MCR Pathways mentorship are 23% less likely to progress to college, university, or employment compared to those who benefit from MCR mentoring. This striking difference highlights the crucial role mentors play in bridging the gap between aspiration and achievement for these young people.
Our aim is to inspire potential mentors by highlighting the diverse range of individuals who are already making a difference within the MCR Pathways community. The campaign addresses common concerns and misconceptions that often prevent people from registering: the time required (whether they can fit it into their work schedules), concerns about life experience (being too old or young), worries about the skills required (lacking experience or qualifications), and doubts about the impact of mentoring (whether mentoring actually has a positive impact). Your support can help us address these concerns and inspire even more people to become mentors!
