This one day course provides a qualification for food handlers by the Royal Environmental Institute of Scotland which is nationally recognised by all sectors of the food industry. It costs £80 per delegate to attend. Delegates are given six hours of tuition and must successfully complete a multiple choice question paper on the day to achieve the certificate.

The course covers:

  • Bacteria and how it affects food
  • Food pests and their control
  • Cleaning practices
  • Hygiene and habits of food handlers
  • Hygiene in the preparation, cooking and storage of food and current food legislation
