Artificial Intelligence for Defence

Dstl and DASA will be sharing information on current innovation funding calls for AI in Defence, including The Sub Threshold and Analysing and Understanding Audiences.

Join us at the Catalyst Building, Newcastle-upon-Tyne to hear about current funding opportunities from the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (Dstl) and the Defence & Security Accelerator (DASA), themed around Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event is for suppliers to hear about our defence challenges, the military end-user perspective, and the ways to work with DASA and Dstl.

The event will present three innovation calls to generate novel and innovative solutions to meet current and future UK Defence needs:

  • AI for Defence: The Defence AI Strategy sets out the UK’s vision to adapt and exploit AI at pace and scale for Defence advantage.
  • The sub-threshold: This Themed Competition explores the role AI-enabled technology can play in improving the MOD’s ability to conduct intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) of the sub-threshold information environment.

• Analysing and Understanding Audiences (Phase 1): This Themed Competition seeks novel and innovative tools, techniques and methods that have the potential to aid the selection, analysis and understanding of audiences. This includes AI approaches as well as human and social science challenges.

The Food and Drink TechHUB Business Support Service would like to invite you to attend on online webinar on “Supporting your Journey to Net Zero”. The free event will take place via Microsoft Teams on Monday 24th April 2023 at 4pm-5pm. Net Zero Webinar

‘Net Zero’ means the amount of greenhouse gas emissions we put into the atmosphere and the amount we’re able to take out will add up to zero. The Scottish Government have ambitious targets to reach net zero by 2045, with interim targets of 75% by 2030 and 90% by 2040. Our first step in becoming net zero is to reduce our emissions by changing our actions and processes.

This 1hr technical webinar will give you an overview of what support is available from the Scotland Food and Drink Partnership to help food and drink business implement a net zero strategy. The session will also include case studies outlining some of the practical processes and procedures food and drink businesses can implement to move towards net zero. This will include a case study from Windswept Brewing who are implementing sustainable energy and waste management innovations that will improve energy efficiencies, conserve resources and reduce waste and wastewater generation.

To register for the event please visit Net Zero Webinar

It includes everything you need for setting up, planning, delivery, and post-exercise activity, all in one place.

The Micro Exercise in a Box session combines several fundamental aspects of cyber security with additional, broader cyber security learnings within a 90-minute session to ensure all organisations, regardless of their sector or level of cyber knowledge, can benefit and enjoy.

The exercise is split up into 4 topics:
