Caithness Chamber of Commerce, thanks to sponsorship from Cavendish Nuclear, is pleased to be able to offer our members some expert guidance on how to navigate the new Social Value requirements in public procurement.

Taking place on 18 May 2022, this free workshop will give members an overview of the legislation behind the process and how commissioners are responding to this. By the end of the session, attendees will have a good understanding of what Social Value is and how to respond to questions relating to it.

Public procurers including the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and the Ministry of Defence are now ‘buying’ social activities within contracts, and businesses are increasingly being asked questions about this in tenders. This session is a real opportunity for the local supply chain to get some advance insight into how they can best prepare to demonstrate Social Value when bidding for work from public sector organisations.

If you would be interested in signing up, please let us know by emailing info@caithnesschamber.com or by calling 01847 890076. Full details of the workshop will be circulated in due course.

Caithness Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Royal Bank of Scotland, would like to invite you to attend a workshop on Managing Change, hosted from 12:00-14:30 on 17 May 2022 at the Pentland Hotel in Thurso.

The past few years have brought with them any number of unforeseen challenges for businesses in the North Highlands. From the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic to the more recent challenges arising from uncertainty around energy prices, material costs and international events, it has been hard for businesses to prepare for what might come next.

At this event, attendees will hear from the Royal Bank of Scotland’s expert team on how to prepare their businesses to adapt to whatever the next few years may bring, as well as hearing direct from guest speakers as to how they have managed change within their own businesses. The event will also feature a networking lunch.

An ESG report is a report published by a business or organisation about environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts. This brief overview session is a perfect introduction into the world of ESG and why indeed you do need to care. The session is aimed at anyone in business, including business owners and leaders; those charged with governance and policy; accountants; lawyers; managers at all levels; investor relations professionals; investors and users of organisational reports.
