North Highland Cancer Information & Support Centre
North Highland Cancer Information & Support Centre is a local charity which was set up some years ago to provide a centre where people affected by cancer – including family, friends and dependents – can receive emotional support, information about treatments and services, and advice and guidance, all within a caring, and totally confidential environment. We have a dedicated team of volunteers, all of whom have personal experience of cancer, and we will always provide as much time as people need to discuss all aspects of their condition, including fear and grief. We also provide – free of charge – a range of therapies such as massage, reiki, hot stone massage etc, delivered by a team of fully qualified therapists.
We receive no formal funding of any sort, at this time, and rely entirely on the generosity of the local community to pay for our services. People with cancer are very much a part of the community, they contribute strongly to it, and they play a vital part in both the social and business life of our area. We believe that everyone who has a need should have access to our unique, and invaluable, facilities and we will play our part in promoting and developing the success and well being of the community as a whole.
