Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce their virtual trade mission to Rotterdam, Netherlands will take place in March 2021. If you are interested in trading with the Netherlands come along to our introductory webinar on the opportunities for Scottish Business in Rotterdam and to learn more about our Virtual Trade Mission.

In this webinar we will hear from a wide range of speakers on Rotterdam and the Wider Netherlands and why the market holds vast opportunities for Scottish Businesses. If you have thought about trading with the Netherlands or already do but are interested in broadening your market, then this webinar is for you.

Rotterdam is the largest port in the EU and there is plenty of opportunities for Scottish organisations in the sectors of Agri-tech, Maritime, Renewables & Green Energy, Life Sciences, and Health businesses. There is also huge potential for organisations looking to take on a more Circular approach to their business.

Circular Economy is a particular focus of this mission as the Netherlands are one of the world leaders in transforming waste into resources and eliminating the extraction and use of virgin resources, while contributing to the zero CO2 goal. Sabine Bieshuvel – Project Coordinator. Blue City.

General manager with a mission. One of the initiators of BlueCity. Huge experience with social impact and businesses and setting up structures to help them further.

Sabine is responsible for day-to-day management of BlueCity and is trained as a cultural anthropologist – knowledge that is useful in mapping the ever-growing BlueCity population.

Rene Hanssens  – Sector Manager Agro Food . Rotterdam Partners

Rotterdam Partners strives to further the success of Rotterdam while building on the sustainable growth of the city. We focus on Rotterdam’s image and promote the Rotterdam region nationally and internationally. We open Rotterdam’s doors to future visitors, companies, and residents and show them around our city.

John Gray – Managing Director. Angus Soft Fruits Ltd

John studied at Edinburgh University after which he spent 5 years living and working in Poland on a large scale farming enterprise. In 2003 John relocated to the UK and joined Angus Soft Fruits. As Managing Director John leads a 100 strong management team with business units in Holland, Spain, Morocco, Chile and southern Africa. The business breeds, grows, packs and markets soft fruit to retailers in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. John has recently been awarded a Nuffield Scholarship which will see him travel to a range of countries with the aim of understanding how growers can increase their share of the fresh produce value chain.
