Our distillery is a VisitScotland 5 Star Visitor Attraction and a centre for food and drink, culture and heritage tourism located along the route of the North Coast 500 on the north coast of Scotland. In 2019, we decided to launch an exciting exhibition programme in our Tasting Room. Our first exhibition is called Inspired by Gin and we would love you to come along and view the beautiful artwork!

LAC is excited to be involved with events throughout the year that will culminate in September with a brand new festival at Wick Harbour taking place from 12th – 19th September 2020.

North Lands Creative – Glass, Meet the Future
Scotland’s arts links with Japan are being supported by over £100,000 from a partnership between British Council Scotland and Creative Scotland. Following an open call for proposals, which drew 24 responses from individuals and organisations working across the Scottish arts sector, North Lands Creative has been chosen to receive a share of the funding. The successful bid covers several art forms including glass, film and cross-disciplinary practices.

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission plc (SSE) – 2019 highlights: celebrating Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm
The latest piece in our 2019 highlights actually begins with a bumper stat from the end of the year. On Sunday December 8 wind farms generated over 38per cent of UK electricity, setting a record of more than 16GW, with offshore wind generating nearly half of this. Beatrice, Scotland’s largest offshore windfarm, on its own contributed 7per cent of offshore wind generation to this, as it helped SSE Renewables deliver clean green energy to millions of homes and businesses across the UK.

Strathnaver Museum – Durness Primary School wins Alan Joyce Young Environmentalist Competition
Durness Primary School are the overall winners in the 2019 Alan Joyce Young Environmentalist Competition. First organised by Strathnaver Museum and Caithness and Sutherland Countryside Rangers in 2012 the competition encourages children to demonstrate their awareness of the natural world around them.

A museum which explores the social history of north-west Sutherland has been given a boost of £650,000.
Strathnaver Museum – Strathnaver Museum secures major capital funding boost
Strathnaver Museum has been announced as a recipient of £650,000 in grant funding from the Natural and Cultural Heritage Fund. The Redevelopment of Strathnaver Museum as a heritage hub for north west Sutherland project will improve the visitor experience, secure the existing museum collections, conserve the historic church building and improve access to its heritage resources.
