20th May 2024, 13:00 to 14:00 @ Online

This webinar on Monday 20th May is about Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Awareness for Hydrogen. Kris Ellenthorpe of Process Safety Consulting Ltd will look at some of the challenges involved from the perspective of COMAH compliance and gaining planning consents.

Kris will draw on examples from experience with projects performed by Process Safety Consulting Ltd and from previous roles including operational experience on a hydrogen manufacturing plant. Please register before noon on Monday 20th May.

This webinar will be beneficial to those in planning and consenting who need to understand the COMAH regulatory framework for hydrogen and companies who seek to implement hydrogen projects on existing or new sites along with developers, prospective developers and equipment manufacturers.

In this free webinar for SHFCA members Kris will discuss:

  • Planning (Hazardous Substances) Regulations – a brief overview and how the regulations link with COMAH.
  • Pre-planning considerations – selection of locations to minimise risk.
  • COMAH requirements and challenges – Regulatory expectations – what operating a COMAH site really means both initially and over the longer term.
  • COMAH risk assessment and links to ALARP – how this differs from standard risk assessment techniques and why a collection of individual risk assessments studies is not enough.
  • The presentation will be followed by Q+A
