Training the workforce
The Chamber of Commerce is currently running a skills transition programme, ‘Make the Right Connections’, aimed at helping local people benefit from new job opportunities. It is funded through a partnership of the European Social Fund, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd and Skills Development Scotland.
The ‘Make the Right Connections' programme will help retain skills in the area, adapt capabilities through the training of the workforce, boost employment and generate new enterprises in Caithness.
