£600,000 pound plan to lift North facilities

The Highland Council plans to make the money available for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross.  Councillors have been asked to recommend the proposals at a meeting in Inverness today.

If approved £300,000 could be allocated in the 2012/13 financial year to help regeneration projects in Wick, Thurso and Helmsdale, while £200,000 is set to be spend on three tourist-related projects, including Duncansby Head and Dunnet head.  The third is Chanonary Point on the Black Isle.
